Description
As a young boy in Germany, Dieter Dengler survived Allied bombings during World War II. At age 18, he moved to the United States, determined to become a pilot. Enlisting in the Navy, he is sent to Vietnam and is shot down over Laos and imprisoned. Despite torture and starvation, Dieter manages to escape into the jungle and eventually is rescued.
